Ubuntu 10.04 CUPS failure....
Upgraded from 9.10 to 10.4 last week. discovered that CUPS is not running so all printers are dead... Hmmm. It seems that the upgrade function in Ubuntu is borked.
I issued the following.....
sudo apt-get install --reinstall cups
and now cups is working once again. This is a bad thing(tm) as printing is important and a upgrade should not completely bork an important function like printing. Here's hoping that that issue a fix in the upgrade servers so that it stops borking people's installs.
