It seems that the best way to make a android based car stereo is this device right here. It will do everything you want PLUS it would easy to make it sit in a nice dock to be completely removable. I've stopped all work on the Android car stereo and will simply get one of these. It eliminated almost all my work and is a cleaner design than I would have ever came up with. someone with some good plastic skills could easily get this in the stereo slot on most cars without effort.
