Why I am against no-code for Ham radio

I got asked a question today by a new ham radio operator... "what bands can I operate on?" I started to answer then stopped. I looked at him puzzled and asked,"how did you pass your test? that is basic information they ask you to pass the test!". he responded, I just memorized the questions.

sorry but the ham radio licensing is pretty silly now. you simply study a pool of questions and never actually learn what you are doing.

Thanks FCC, Ham radio is becoming the CB radio of this century because anyone can get into it now without learning a thing.
