Technology Obsolesence

I find fun things from time to time as a ITGuru for various places. It seems that schools suffer the most from out of date computing gear, but this bold statement on an incredibly old emachine made me laugh out loud.

Problem is it's windows98 install had a bigger laugh when it proudly refused to work in our new server 2003 network (as expected.)

It all just made me chuckle at the audacity of a company of even trying to proclaim the impossible as a marketing gimmick on the computer.. Even automobiles are facing obsolescence today. Most cars on the road can not run on E85 fuel and will cost as much as a new car to retrofit them to run on the new more corrosive fuel. Leaving a large number behind in the oil based fuels.
